2025 Elections - Application Deadline March 14th

We need your leadership! VAMPA is looking for passionate members to run for elected positions in our upcoming elections. This is your opportunity to help shape the future of our organization, advocate for minority PAs, and create meaningful change in the healthcare community. The new VAMPA Board members will officially start on April 1, 2025. 


We will be electing a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and a PA Student Representative! 


Running for office will allow you to:

  • Influence key initiatives that benefit minority PAs.
  • Build your leadership experience.
  • Strengthen our community and amplify diverse voices


Board applications must include a platform statement and CV. Applications are due by March 14th.

President

  • Preside at all business meetings of the organization and of the Board.
  • Make a full report of the activities at the annual meeting of the organization. 
  • Coordinate agendas for meetings, preside at meetings, maintain order, and coordinate forums for discussion. 
  • Appoint all standing committee chairs and has ex-oficio voting power on all committees of the organization. 
  • 1-2 years of leadership experience required. 
  • Must be passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and work to promote VAMPA’s mission.

Vice President

  • Perform the duties as designated by the President, and shall assume the duties of the President in their absence. 
  • In collaboration with the President, appoint all standing committee chairs.
  • Serve as liaison between the committee chairpersons and the Board. They shall serve as the chairperson of adhoc Committees.
  • 1 year of leadership experience preferred but not required
  • Must be passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and work to promote VAMPA’s mission

Treasurer

  • Maintain accurate records of the financial status of the organization.
  • Deposit in the organization’s account all the money received by the
  • Organization.
  • Pay all bills approved by the Board and record all receipts of these
  • Payments.
    • Payments over $100.00 shall require the President’s written documentation of approval. 
  • Treasurer’s financial record shall be reviewed by the Board annually and upon the officer leaving the office.
  • Must be passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and work to promote VAMPA’s mission. 
  • Leadership experience preferred but not required.

Secretary

  • Keep minutes of all meetings of the Board and general membership.
  • Be responsible for distribution of minutes to the board and the general membership.
  • Assist in notification of meetings and coordinate with the membership chair on the applications and membership renewals of eligible fellows and students.
  • Must be passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and work to promote VAMPA’s mission. 
  • Leadership experience preferred but not required.

Student Representative

  • Act as a liaison between the Board and all PA student and pre-PA members. 
  • Encourage PA student and pre-PA participation and involvement in the organization.
  • Must be passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and work to promote VAMPA’s mission. 
  • Leadership experience preferred but not required.
