Membership Categories
Membership shall be open to all individuals who commit to the mission and purpose of the organization. No application shall be denied on the basis of gender, age, ethnicity/race, disability, creed, color, national origin, or sexual orientation.
Fellow Member
A physician associate who graduated from an ARC-PA Accredited PA Program and practices in Virginia. Fellows shall have full voting privileges in the VAMPA. They may have the privilege of the floor, hold offices, and serve as committee chairs.
Annual fee: $50
PA Student Member
A student enrolled in an accredited PA Program in Virginia. Student members shall have the privilege of the floor and may serve on committees, but not chair committees. They may not vote or hold office except as an elected student representative of VAMPA.
FREE Membership
Pre-PA Member
Pre-PAs are persons who plan to apply to PA programs, and reside within Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Washington, DC. They shall have the privilege of the floor and may serve on committees but not serve as chair of committees. Pre-PAs may not vote or hold office.
FREE Membership
Associate Member
Associate members include PAs who graduated from an accredited PA Program, and are licensed to practice outside of Virginia. It also includes health care providers who are not PAs, and who do not qualify for any other membership category. Associate members shall be entitled to participate in all VAMPA activities and committees, but may not serve as chair of committees. They are not eligible for election to the Board of Directors and do not have any voting rights.
Annual fee: $35
Retired Member
Retired members are PAs who have retired from PA practice and reside in Virginia. They are not eligible for election to the Board of Directors. They may have the privilege of the floor and may serve as committee chairs.
Annual fee: $25
